On Monday evening, August 18, 2008, aspirants from newly formed Class 2013, signed on to the Brescia University internet site and began their first class, Th105 - Introduction to the New Testament. This is the beginning of their Aspirancy Year and the initial exposure to on-line education for most of the participants. Over the next four years they will take twelve nine-week academic courses via the internet. In addition to posted readings, writing of papers and test,, they will come together once a week for a ninty-minute session in the "chat-room", where instructor and students will interact in a dynamic environment. This period will be for discussions, question and answer time, and information sharing, all supervised by their instructor sitting in Owensboro, KY. Oh my, how has education changed!
Satellite Theological Education Program (STEP) (online) offered by the University of Notre Dame. Courses range from four-week book review sessions to seven-week professor led courses. Areas of study include; Catholic Doctrine, Liturgy, Church History, Christian Life, Scripture, and Religion and Literature. Prices run from $29. to $109.
